Things To Know Before Submitting Your Interest

• Participants must be in the range of 13 to 18 years old and in school.

• You must be able to be dropped off and picked up in the Downtown Des Moines area on Monday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.

• We have informational meetings to officially get you signed up in February and we train from March through July.

• This awesome program ends with a week long bike ride across Iowa called RAGBRAI. This is always the last full week of July and it’s a blast!

• The program is completely free. You don’t even need to own your own bicycle; we provide a bike, helmet, refillable water bottles, bike clothing, snacks, lunch on longer days, RAGBRAI entrance fee, travel to and from RAGBRAI, and camping gear if needed.

• Please know that space is limited and there is a selection process. We are seeking individuals who can benefit from this free program who wouldn’t otherwise have the resources to do so. We seek out referrals for every participant that we add to our roster.
