(Des Moines, Iowa) – The Dream Team has received a grant from Variety – the Children’s Charity. The grant will help Dream Team support its mission of helping youth develop a positive approach to life’s challenges through the power of a bicycle.
Dream Team is a nonprofit organization serving central Iowa with a five-month youth mentorship program. Annually, the Dream Team will mentor between 30-40 youth and guide the youth in setting goals, working hard, and dreaming big!
The Variety- the Children’s Charity grant will be used to make sure the youth are properly prepared for success during the five-month program. The grant will focus on helping youth learn healthy habits of fitness and nutrition by purchasing proper food items needed to train hard.
“We are excited to receive this grant from the Variety-the Children’s Charity” says Jeff Van Genderen, Executive Director of the Dream Team. “These funds will help us ensure the youth, we serve, are well nourished as they learn to develop positive approaches to life’s challenges.”
