River to River: Dream Team Ready for RAGBRAI XLVIII

After one of the most unique training seasons in the program's history, the 2021 Dream Team is ready to ride the 48th edition of RAGBRAI®.

The team successfully endured a busy month of indoor training at the Des Moines Downtown Wellmark YMCA in March and then hit the trails and roads outdoors for 3.5 months of additional riding, including multiple overnight campouts. Several of the youth riders will start the "Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa" having surpassed 1,000 training miles.

"The 2021 team has shown tremendous resiliency and flexibility throughout the training process," says Dream Team Executive Director, Brian O'Leary. "The week of RAGBRAI®, while still challenging, will be a celebration of their accomplishments."

A total of 25 youth riders will make the trek from LeMars, IA to Clinton, IA - a total of 454.1 miles and 11,954 feet of climb. Accompanying them will be a dedicated group of volunteer mentors and support crew that have supported the Dream Team throughout the season.

The Dream Team would like to share special appreciation to RAGBRAI®, Wellmark YMCA, Bike World, Meredith Corporation, Air Force Cycling Team, and the many donors, supporters, and friends of the team who have made this season possible.
